- ## How do prepaid data plans work for connected devices?
Rate plans for connected devices are paid in advance, with the data plan added to an existing Metro by T-Mobile phone plan. Taxes and regulatory fees are already included in the monthly plan price.
- ## Can I bring my own hotspot, tablet, or any other connected device?
Currently, you can bring your own tablet and or smartwatch to your Metro plan—but we’re working hard to support more “Bring Your Own” connected devices at Metro.
- ## How do I sign up and activate my connected device?
Connected device plans must be added to an existing Metro by T-Mobile phone plan; they are not sold separately. After purchasing your new connected device, our support team will make sure your device is set up properly. Customer care can also help set up connected devices at 888-863-8768.
- ## How much data do I need?
A variety of high-speed data plan options are available with Metro’s connected devices. If you’re activating a Mobile Hotspot device, check out our rate plans and find the plan that best fits your needs.
- ## How do I add more data to my connected device?
Data top-ups can be added to certain connected devices to provide an additional 2GB, 5GB, or 10GB of high-speed data. Customers may choose to top up their existing data plan on a month-by-month basis or as a recurring monthly add-on. For more information about Data top-ups, ask your support team or contact customer care at 888-863-8768.
