  • Credit and Debit cards are accepted.

  • New customers who want to activate more than one line should visit their nearest Metro by T-Mobile Store. Customers can order a single line and device on metrobyt-Mobile. com. Once that device has been activated a customer can return to metrobyt-mobile.com and order an additional line/device.

  • There is no fee to activate, using on-line instant activation.

  • If there is not an issue with your credit/debit card, you can call Customer Care on 1-888-8metro8 for assistance.

  • Please call Customer Care at 1-888-8metro8 to activate your device.

  • Customers whose devices have been shipped to them should activate using the activation email they received the same day their new device arrived.    

    If you cannot locate the email or the activation flow did not work, you can get assistance by clicking the activate your device button above or by calling Customer Care at 1-888-8-metro-8.

  • Get your phone’s unique IMEI or IMEI2 from the settings menu, on the box or packaging, or it may be printed on the back of the phone, or by dialing *#06#

  • Some activation channels allow you to add features during activation. If features are not offered when you activate, you can visit My Account to add features, you may visit a store to add all features or call Customer CARE to add all features except Device Protection (Available in store only).

    • Make a payment via cash or credit/debit card at any Metro by T-Mobile Store
    • Set up AutoPay using our Self-Service Center
    • Set up your account in My Account or on the myMetro App using the Self-Service Center, both accept credit/debit cards
    • Call Customer Care at 1-888-8-metro-8 or *611 from your Metro Phone, they accept credit/ debit cards
    • Phone and SIM card: Have a Network Unlocked compatible phone and Metro by T-Mobile SIM Card or an eSIM capable device, handy.You can check to see if yourdevice is unlocked by going to Bring Your Own Phone or Device (BYOD) | Metro by T-Mobile
    • Choose a rate plan:  You’ll need to select a plan and pay for your first month of service to complete activation
    • Email address: A valid email address not previously used on another Metro by T-Mobile account.
    • Phone Number:  We can provide you with a new number or you can bring your current number.  If you bring your current numberand it’sfrom an eligible carrier, we’ll help you set it up.  You will need the following Original Service Provider Information:Account Number, PIN/Port Out PIN, Zip Code.
  • Absolutely! First, please make sure you’ve checked your device combability with the T-Mobile Network using our Self-Service Center. Then go to metrobyt-mobile.com and:

    • Purchase a Metro by T-Mobile SIM and
    • Pick a Rate Plan

    Once you receive your SIM in the mail, you will receive an email that has activation instructions.   

    Have your phone available when going through the activation process, you will need your phone’s IMEI    

    If you purchased your SIM from Walmart, you may go to Activate Your Prepaid Phone Service | Metro by T-Mobile and use the Walmart activation flow.  

  • A SIM card is what connects you to your carrier’s network and allows you to use mobile services. SIM cards come in different sizes and can be moved from phone to phone.

  • An eSIM is a digital version of a physical SIM (pSIM) card that is embedded in your device. It’s what identifies your device and allows network connection. Plus, with eSIM you can switch to Metro by T-Mobile service in minutes.

  • “Unlocked” means that your phone isn’t connected to a specific carrier’s network and can work with other service providers (OSP’s). You’ll need to check if your phone is unlocked before you can bring it to Metro by T-Mobile. Bring Your Own Phone or Device (BYOD) | Metro by T-Mobile
