T-Mobile is bringing Sprint into the family
T-Mobile and Sprint are coming together to build the best wireless company around. We're going to do this
while keeping prices low and dramatically improving your network experience. Metro by T-Mobile customers will
benefit from increased capacity that will help improve coverage and decrease network congestion.
Building a network for ALL
Combining Sprint's network with T-Mobile's means we'll quickly be able to build one of the best
networks around. And because Metro is powered by the T-Mobile network, it means your network is
about to get even better.
We've got answers.
Why are T-Mobile and Sprint merging?
The two companies are uniting and combining resources to bring customers the connectivity, service and value they deserve. Together, things will be taken to an entirely new level! Starting today with the arrival of the new T-Mobile, consumers win – and that includes Metro customers.
The new T-Mobile will build a transformative nationwide 5G network that will drive innovation and connect every American. With T-Mobile’s low-band, Sprint’s mid-band and other spectrum, the highest capacity nationwide network in U.S. history will be built — 400MHz+ on average nationwide.
So, what can Metro customers look forward to? What benefits should Metro customers expect?
Access to T-Mobile’s Nationwide 5G Network - SUPERCHARGED!
- All customers on Metro by T-Mobile will have access to the same amazing 5G network and services because Metro is powered by the T-Mobile Network.
- With 14 times more total capacity in the next six years than T-Mobile would have had alone, customers won’t have to choose between great service or low
prices — they’ll get both. The new T-Mobile is committed to offering free 5G access and the best rate plans at low prices, now and in the future, so all customers can reap the benefits of a supercharged Un-Carrier network at a great value.
- T-Mobile already has the largest 5G network. Combined with Sprint, it will reach even more people including 90% of rural Americans within six years.
Will there be any new plans, features or changes for Metro by T-Mobile customers after the merger?
Metro by T-Mobile plans will remain as they are for now.
And because Metro is powered by the T-Mobile network, customers will benefit from faster speeds, greater bandwidth, and an even better experience for more people than ever before.
Can I get my Sprint phone to work for Metro by T-Mobile?
Today every device works the same as it has on the network it’s currently using. For now, customers will use two distinct networks, Sprint and T-Mobile.
Many newer Sprint devices will be compatible with elements of the T-Mobile Network, and Metro currently has access to the T-Mobile Network.
Will devices that are currently only available to Sprint prepaid customers now be available on Metro by T-Mobile?
Sprint and Metro by T-Mobile will continue to launch new devices as they become available from the manufacturers. At this time, Sprint and Metro will continue to offer separate devices that work on each respective network.
