Over the years when it comes to cell phone carriers and getting the best deals I have learned to call the main customer service line first and ask them about promotions, in stores sometimes they operate on commission or have a rating system and try to get the best deals for them and not you as the customer or they aren’t fully trained like the customer care reps are at the call centers. I switched from a nationally well known carrier because of affordability over to metro by t-mobile. I went into one of the local metro stores with my own device and asked about the promotion metro by t-mobile had for switching over to them from the carrier across the street and with bringing my own device the instore customer care representative was sort of confusing I asked about the $25 a month promotion for switching and bringing my own unlocked device and I had thought the metro representative at the store said the $25 a month was for one month and she sort of steared away from that promotion and not giving much detail about it and said something about how their phone plans starting at $40 a month. I just paid $489 on my device to have it unlocked through another carrier to get a better deal on a phone plan, So I told her I’ll be back later on, I left and called metro by t mobile’s main customer care number and the switching of my I-Phone from the national carrier it was through over to metro by T mobile was simple and the porting of my number from the old carrier over to metro by T mobile was done all in less than 15 minutes or so and plus there was no confusion over the monthly plan price and it was guaranteed that the monthly price will not change for atleast 5 years unless I either have add ons to my plan or change my plan it’s self, it was less confusing and so much more simpler and not having to worry about a sales representative trying to push the highest priced plan nor other devices, and not having to deal with competitiveness between sales reps and being able to get the latest promotions and deals when calling the main customer care line.
