Welcome to Metro by T-Mobile Activation

Thank you for joining Metro. Let's get your service up and running. New customers or customers returning to Metro are able to activate service using this tool.

Here are a few things you should know before getting started:

 

Phone & SIM Card:

You will need your phone and SIM card before you start the process.
If you don't have a Metro by T-Mobile SIM card, you can buy one here.

 

New Accounts only:

If you already have an account with us, you can activate a new phone bydialing 1-888-8-Metro8 (1-888-863-8768) or by visiting the nearest store.

 

Phones Only:

This service only supports the activation of phone service plans. If you want to activate a connected device such as tablet, mobile hotspot device, or MetroSMART Ride you will need to dial 1-888-8-Metro8 (1-888-863-8768) or visit your local store.

 

Bring Your Number or Get a New One:

You can get a new local number or bring your number from your current carrier.
If you are bringing your number, make sure that you have your current carrier's account number and pin.

 

Pre-Activation Checklist:

  1. Phone IMEI: Have your phone's IMEI and SIM card numbers handy to complete the activation.
  2. Rate Plan Selection: The Online Activation Tool offers several plans to choose from - check them out here. You'll be asked to select and pay for your first month during the activation process.
  3. E-Mail Address: The Online Activation Tool requires you to enter a valid e-mail address during the activation process. This email address must be unique to the new account and cannot be associated with another Metro by T-Mobile account.

 

For Verizon Customers:

If you are switching from Verizon Wireless postpaid service, they require you to get a Number Transfer PIN. To get Verizon's number transfer PIN complete the following steps.

  1. Dial #7678 from the account holder's phone
  2. Verizon will send a text message with a link
  3. Click generate a PIN on screen
  4. You'll see your Account Number & Transfer PIN.
    This is required for you to bring your number to Metro.
